Dear Parent Guardian
As we move into exam season, it is essential that our young people are prepared for what lies ahead.
The last two years have been challenging with much uncertainty. Therefore, we are planning a focus on study and stress over the coming week with years 10,11,12 and 13. We are aware that many students will not have experienced formal exams before.
Plan for the week
Assemblies on how to best revise for GCSE and A level exams.
Each student will receive a study pack with lots of tips on how to best revise and keep organised.
Each student will receive a stress pack with advice on how to cope during the exam period. This will contain links to useful apps and advice from CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service).
A revision calendar.
A video from ex-students all about how they coped with exams.
Copies of the above information will be available to download from the school website in the parents – exam support section.
Many teachers will be inviting students to revision sessions. It is essential that these are attended as they are a golden opportunity to work with the experts to make a real difference to revision.
It is essential that all students attend registration every day from 8:45 to 9:05am. This is a time where students can get ready for the day ahead, receive notices and be supported by their form tutor.
I cannot stress the importance enough of working with teachers and being in all lessons on time. Teachers are the experts on exam preparation, past papers, revision advice and enabling each student to reach their potential.
