World Book Day
World Book Day was a huge success here at Ysgol Dinas Brân. The costumes were amazing and so many took the trouble to dress up and support the day. Thank you all. Staff and students went above and beyond.
World Book Day is all about promoting reading. We are all aware how reading benefits not just a student’s grades but their mental health too, so it was encouraging to see all KS3 enjoy the third “Get into Reading Day” as part of the WBD celebrations. Staff and students read for 15 minutes in each lesson during the day.
Every student was given a Book Token which they could exchange for a book and I have given out almost 200 here in the Learning Zone. Students enjoyed book challenges and quizzes at break and lunch and the sweet sale was very busy.
We raised a total of £290.34P towards new books. Thank you everyone who supported it really is appreciated.
