What an Eisteddfod in Denbigh 2022! Ysgol Dinas Brân were extremely successful in this years Eisteddfod yr Urdd - together with the success of the homework competitions this was the most successful Urdd Eisteddfod for the school has had in over a decade.
On Wednesday Leri Roberts from Year 7 took part in the piano solo for Pupils in year 7-9 – Well done on a fantastic performance!
Edie Langford from Year 8 came first in the Learners recital Year 7-9. This is the first time Edie had competed in the Eisteddfod so this was a huge achievement – Fantastic Edie!
On Thursday pupils from Year 7 were competing in the Group Recital for Learners, and again this was the first time the pupils had ever performed on stage with cameras and lighting. The group performed exceptionally and hopefully this will encourage them to compete again next year.
The last day of the Eisteddfod was a very successful one for Dinas Brân. Phoebe Wakefield from Year 10 won the Learners recital for Year 10 and under 19. Phoebe had previously won a silver and bronze medal, but this year came first with a fabulous performance
Adam Wolsey form Year 13 was also successful with his Piano Solo for Pupils in Year 10 and under 19. The competition was of a very high standard with 16 taking part and Adam came 3rd. It’s hard to believe that Adam has only ever had 2 piano lessons and is mainly self –taught. This was a massive achievement for him.
A massive thank you to all the staff for their hard work in training the pupils. Also thank you to all the staff who came to support and immerse themselves in Welsh culture at its best.
Until next year in Carmarthenshire 2023!
