Sponsored Walk Around Castell Dinas Brân – A Celebration of Resilience and Community Spirit Today, over 500 students from Ysgol Dinas Brân came together to take part in a spectacular Sponsored Walk around the base of the iconic Castell Dinas Brân. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Welsh hills and historic ruins, the event was not only a fundraising initiative to support a new minibus but also a powerful demonstration of community, perseverance, and pride in collective achievement. Despite an overcast start and a brisk breeze, the students showed unwavering enthusiasm and energy throughout the morning. The terrain was varied, grassy slopes, stony paths, and slightly muddy tracks from recent rain, but that didn’t dampen spirits. If anything, it added to the sense of challenge and adventure. The route traced a full loop around the base of Castell Dinas Brân, allowing students to appreciate the dramatic landscape from every angle. Teachers and support staff were stationed along the course to offer encouragement, water, and to ensure everyone remained safe and supported. The atmosphere was alive with chatter, laughter, and shared determination as students from all year groups who took part, many walking alongside friends and even teachers. This was more than just a physical challenge; it was a celebration of resilience and Success through Effort. For some students, this was their first time attempting such a distance or walking across uneven terrain. Yet, every one of them gave it their all, pushing themselves to complete the circuit several times and supporting their peers along the way. The Sponsored Walk also served a deeper purpose: raising funds to support the replacement of the school minibus. The amount raised is still coming in via ParentPay, but early indications suggest a strong and generous response from families and the local community. Today’s walk around Castell Dinas Brân was more than just a fundraising event. It was a testament to the resilience, spirit, and strength of the Ysgol Dinas Brân community.
