Cardiff Trip
The PE and DT department took a group of year 12 students to Cardiff for an overnight stay. On the first day students were fortunate enough to visit the home of Welsh excellence in the Vale Resort to watch the Wales Football team train, meet the players and collect signatures. Fortunately, the Welsh rugby squad were also present preparing for the upcoming World Cup in France. The students were able to meet and see many of Wales’ sports stars. In the afternoon, we visited Cardiff Metropolitan University for a design and make activity On the second day we visited the University of South Wales for a sports testing day. We took part in speed tests, power tests and VO2 max test using the impressive facilities that the university had to offer. In the evening they were then invited to watch the Wales vs Armenia game at the Cardiff City Stadium. Students were a credit to the school.
