Bronze Award/Mark Drakeford

Today we were delighted to welcome Mr Mark Drakeford to Ysgol Dinas Brân for an inspiring discussion on the importance of the Welsh language. Our Sixth Form pupils studying Welsh Second Language A level, along with enthusiastic learners from Years 10 and 11, took part in a brilliant Q&A session—asking thoughtful, insightful questions and engaging confidently throughout. A special thank you goes to Calum in Year 13, who not only organised the entire event but also led the session with maturity and professionalism. What an achievement! Diolch yn fawr to everyone involved in making the visit a success. The message from Mark Drakeford was clear and powerful: “Use your Welsh.” We are extremely proud of our pupils for rising to the challenge and showing their enthusiasm for the Welsh language. Mr Drakeford also presented the school with the Cymraeg Campus Bronze Award following the success of the Criw Cymraeg, who helped the school achieve the award this week. It was a wonderful way to end a special week here at Ysgol Dinas Brân — a week full of Welsh language culture, engaging activities, and celebrations of our language. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to strengthening and promoting Welsh across our school. Yr Adran Gymraeg
