A group of enthusiastic textiles students embarked on an exciting trip to Oswestry to collaborate with The Qube Gallery, an inspiring venue known for its creative community projects. The students were tasked with creating a unique character through textiles, an opportunity to put their skills into practice and explore new creative techniques. Throughout the day, the students worked hands-on, guided by experienced artists, to design and construct characters using a variety of textile techniques, including sewing, stitching, and embellishing fabrics. The trip allowed them to experiment with colours, textures, and patterns, all while enhancing their understanding of character design and textile art. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, learning valuable lessons that will inspire their future work. They returned to school with a deeper appreciation for the diverse possibilities within textiles, as well as a newly created character that showcased their skills and imagination.
