The aim at Ysgol Dinas Brân is that all students have the fullest possible access to a wide range of international opportunities and partnerships, to further develop their knowledge and understanding of Wales, and its place within the international community. The themes that we have chosen reflect this aim such as; developing pride in the Welsh language and culture and sharing environmental issues when forging links with other countries both within Europe and the wider world. We have adopted the framework of the British Council in developing our international delivery, focusing our projects on the Global themes; Identity and Belonging, Sustainable Living, Conflict and Peace, Fairness and Equality as well as Rights and Responsibilities.

We have a strong tradition of pupil participation in the implementation and leadership of our projects which we continue to embrace through our various programmes. We also take on our ambassadorial role within the community as a beacon for internationalism, tolerance and understanding. We have developed this role across different sections of the community and we are in partnership with our feeder primary schools in looking to develop their international programmes as well. In short, we have continued to develop the international dimension at Ysgol Dinas Brân from its strong foundations and traditions which have existed over many years. Our key aim is to make sure that all students have access to a wide range of differing international experiences and opportunities, as to further international and community relations, knowledge, understanding, peace and tolerance.

This website will display our key focus areas this year; namely the British Council Erasmus Plus project “Protecting Minority Languages and Cultures across Europe”, our Lebanon link, a Humanities project with the German government and also our International Expedition programme with World Challenge.
